Background

NECS is a consulting engineering firm, wholly owned by John Ruga who is also the owner of Northeast Precast LLC (NEP). NEP has been very successful in the precast concrete industry and as a result, several years ago, they decided to design, permit and build industrial, commercial, residential and recreational land development projects. To this end, NEP has developed a construction company that regularly executes large sitework projects. NECS was founded to provide consulting engineering, environmental, permitting and surveying services in support of that effort. In more recent years, NECS has expanded services to support clients beyond NEP in the full range of land development services.

Because we work integrally together with the NEP construction team, it is essential that we use and/or develop products and processes that allow for rapid survey, design and construction. This includes development of land surfaces with photogrammetry and LiDAR generated by in-house drones, rapid data processing, design surfaces, and preparation of those surfaces for construction using GPS-controlled heavy equipment. This process can be completed in a day or less.
